Wedding Workshop Images

Something I know I need to do more of this year is shoot for myself. I don't take enough time to do that, and I always reminded of it's value when I do. It's amazing how the experience of photographing changes when the pressures of the wedding day are absent. It allows my mind to work a little more freely I guess.
That's the experience I had recently at THE Wedding Workshop that Pierre and I taught. We spent some time in the afternoon shooting on location with our students and it was so nice to simply be creative. Even better than that though was letting the students "into my viewfinder" a little and talking with them about the shots and photography in general. I was really happy with lots of my photos, and others I know could have been easily improved, but either way the experience was great.
Special thanks again to our models Ashley, Zach, Oliver and Erica!
Here's a few of my favorites! Enjoy!

This one is my favorite!

THE Wedding Workshop!

Saturday was the first day of the wedding workshop, and it was a great
day of teaching and shooting. A hectic, fast day, but so much fun!

THE Wedding Workshop!

I'm really pumped about this! I have many passions in my life - photography, traveling, just to name a couple - but more and more I'm finding that I really love teaching. I teach photography classes part-time at The Camera Company here in Madison, and I've found that to be very rewarding. But now I'm really excited to announce that I'll be teaching my first professional photography workshop with my good friend Pierre! We're teaming up to teach a phenomenal 2-day intensive workshop covering all aspects of wedding photography, but especially highlighting and contrasting our two very different styles and approaches. It's going to be very hands-on, with plenty of up-close and personal time with Pierre and I.
There are lots of photography workshops out there, but we wanted this one to be very different and we wanted to blow our students away with both the content and the experience, and I think we'll easily do that! We're going to have several models to shoot, we've got a limobus lined up to chauffeur everyone around town to different locations to shoot - just like a wedding day! - we'll be doing a dusk/nighttime shoot, a real trash the dress session, and after party on Saturday evening, and tons more. The classroom portion will happen at Brocach, which is right on the Capitol Square. Class will be held in their really great space upstairs that has plenty of tables and comfy chairs and couches, not to mention awesome food and drink!
If you're just starting out with photography and are thinking about shooting weddings, this will give you a ton of great information and hands-on experience shooting with other professionals. And if you're a more seasoned photographer, I promise you this workshop will leave you energized and motivated to push your skills and style to a new level.
It's going to be an awesome couple of days, and we're limiting it to 20 students, so sign up now! Here's a few of the details and a link to find more:
